This movie really pushed the actors up the ladder in their careers. These two movies with many struggles came out and delivered great success at box office. Though there are numerous experiments done in the art form the reason people love the art is for the factor of entertainment. Definitely not as great as the first part but a good work which is worth a mention. After few disasters for the director and also for the actors involved this is a much-needed success for the whole team that includes Yuvan as well. Coming after 10 years with a proper sequel is in itself a great challenge but VP delivered his best with the boys again.
But for the being agood family entertainer and for the positive energy it carried Thozha deserves to be in this list. Songs in Tamil were little disappointing and so were the placement. Emotional treatment in the movie worked really well. Though the movie is adopted from an award winning French movie, the dialogues and screenplay in our language looked really fresh. This experimentation is again a worthy one and to be appreciated. Grounding a Korean remake with the feel of reality gets us more involved and connected to the movie. Ka Ka Po is again a brilliantly made movie by Nalan. Music is again a major uplift for the movie. Vijay Sethupathi as cop for the first time delivered an amazing performance. The word mass is defined perfectly in this movie. Sethupathi directed by Arunkumar explored a new dimension in commercial cinema. Music by the Music God the biggest strength of this movie.ħ) Sethupathi and Kathalum Kadanthu Pogum Movie could have been made better by making compromises on the commercials elements but for wholesome experience and to cover all class audience director Samutharakani seems to have added few portions, which didn’t go well along with the movie. This movie again talked about an important social issue and also the relationship between father and a son. Movie came two weeks prior to kabali and that is the major reason for the lesser impact this movie created. Movie does have many flaws but for nearly achieving the elusive “perfect balance” of mass and class, Ranjith deserves huge accolades. Amazing performances and music are the highlights of Kabali. The level of pressure the director had to go through in order to deliver such a masterpiece and explore the acting abilities of our super star earns this movie a place in the top 10. Kabali was loved by many and hated by few. Kutramae Thandanai, again from the director, was really impressive and worth a mention in this list. Out all other hits of Vijay Sethupathi in 2016 for us Aandavan Katalai makes the top of the list. Well written characters and acting performances elevated this movie to the next level. But the ability to narrate such a painful story in a feel good style puts director Manikandan in the list of good filmmakers.
This movie waa released with zero expectations – No big promotions and to be frank, not well marketed. Well-narrated screenplay, great acting delivered by the characters and music by SANA made this movie a complete experience. Generally people tend to get more connected with sports movies about underdogs this movie is not an exception. Made based on a true story, Visaranai is universal in its theme of humanity and the brutal violence left indelible scars on not only the protagonists but on all of us too.Īlthough this movie came out during the beginning of this year, the fact that it is still fresh in our memories shows the impact it has created. One could undoubtedly make a good case for Visaranai to b the best movie of 2016 and we would present no opposition but orders and lists come with their own rules. Kudos to the team and especially to the director. Dialogues in particular hit home and so did the music and songs. Movies of this genre usually find it difficult to connect with audience but this movie made quite an impression on every last one in the audience. 2016 seems like the right year to understand the Indian political System for the people of Tamilnadu.
